Introduction
Name: Suomenlahti Time: 2010-2011 Place: Suomenlahti, Russia Equipment: Mamiya RZ67 Pro II, film 120 Description: Film scan, retouch, tone Exhibition: St.Petersburg, 11/2016, personal Note: From the press release to the exhibition "The landscape that has not changed here for centuries ..." (11/2016) Photos are made in the genre of landscape etude and reflect the author's view of the pearl of the city on the Neva - the Gulf of Finland (Suomenlahti). The Gulf of Finland, with its cold beauty, hiding the barrage of passions, still remains unappreciated among artists and poets. These works give an opportunity to touch the hidden magic of the bay. The sky, trees, stones, water - as the fundamental principle of the universe - attract the eye and plunge into the archetypal state. Through them, you can feel how a human, invading the special world of the Gulf of Finland, is trying to tame it but fails - all the buildings look like thrown toys. These pictures emanate the flows of eternity and loneliness; everything comes and goes, like waves rolling to the shore. |
